Norma Jean McMinn Dennis, 78, of Verbena, Alabama passed away July 24, 2021 at her residence in Verbena, Alabama.

She was born February 20, 1943 in Alabama, and was the daughter of the late Hollis McMinn and the late Gladys Davenport McMinn.

She was a retired paper mill worker at International Paper.

Norma Jean loved her kids and grandkids. When she was able, she loved to fish trot lines and work in her yard planting flowers. She loved being on the lake and watching the water from her porch.

Surviving are her sons, Jimmy G. (Marianne) Dennis and Kenneth Davis; daughter, Samantha (Steven) Hale; grandchildren, Jimmy (Lindsey) Dennis, Jonathan Dennis, Shenna Davis, Ashley (Matt) Blackmon; great-grandchildren, Sophie Dennis, Ava Grace Dennis, Bailey Dennis, Dustin Davis, Destiny Davis, Ally Hembree, Olivia Popwell, Ben Hale, Anastasia Hale, Nick Blackmon, Zack Blackmon, Samuel Blackmon and Alex Price; brothers, William (Deanna) McMinn, Terry (Donna) McMinn and Julius McMinn; sisters, Pam Bright, Brenda Langston, Margie McMinn and Alice Faye (Max) Dempsey; a host of nieces and nephews; and caregiver, Teresa Davis.

Pallbearers: Jimmy Dennis, Jonathan Dennis, Dustin Davis, Jeremy Connell, Jeff McMinn, Mark McMinn and Jamie Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Morgan Alvin Dennis and Edward “Eddie” Lenoir Dennis; grandson, Brett Davis; mother, Gladys McMinn; father, Hollis McMinn; brothers, Mike McMinn and Charles “Shug” McMinn; and sisters, Diane Connell, Sarah Johnson and Kaye McMinn.

Friends will be received Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Hardy officiating.

Interment will follow in Maplesville City Cemetery in Maplesville, Alabama.
