The Clanton Advertiser places in press contest

The results are in for the annual Alabama Press Association Media awards.

This year, The Clanton Advertiser received first place in its division for Best Local Economic Coverage, Best Sports Photo for“BMX” by Anthony Richards, Best Single Ad over 1/2 page, black and white, Best Classified Page and Best Presentation of Online Advertising.

Each division has publications of a similar size.

In the editorial contest, The Clanton Advertiser also placed Third for the FOI-First Amendment Award with the column “Public notice laws need updating” by Joyanna Love, second and third for Best Headline, second place for Best Special Section – Newsprint for “Progress: For every generation,” third place for Best Lifestyle/Family Pages, second place for Best Human Interest Column with “I’ll be home for Christmas” by columnist Elisabeth Altamirano-Smith.

Every writer on staff works on Progress, so it was great to see it place this year.

Advertising also place third for Best Signature Page, third for Best Innovative Online Advertising- single ad as well as third for Best Ad Campaign or Series and second for Best House Ad or Self-Promotion in the magazine contest for ads in Peach Living.
