The Chilton Baptist Association (CBA) is going to be hosting its annual Kid’s Camp again this summer.

The camp was cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns last summer, but they are planning to have it again this year on July 19-23. While it may look different from years past, the organization still believes that the children will have fun and grow closer to Christ, according to Macee Wallace, camp coordinator.

“The goal of the camp is to help the children grow in their relationship with Christ, to become closer to the people they came with and to meet new friends,” Wallace said.

It takes a lot to put the camp on, and the CBA is taking any snack or drink donations that people want to bring. They do ask to bring name brand products because the kids typically avoid the generic products. Wallace said you can drop off any food donations at the CBA building.

“Any snacks like chips, cookies or Little Debby’s are good,” Wallace said. “We need lots of water and Gatorade, a well as a variety of soft drinks, too. If anyone wants to donate money instead, they can write a check to the CBA and make it for Kid’s Camp. Any money left over from buying snacks and food will go towards buying things for recreational activities.”

The reason they ask for donations is to try to keep the price of the camp as low as possible. All of the registration fees go straight to Shocco Springs, the Baptist Conference Center, and they want that to be the only thing the campers have to pay for, acceding to Wallace.
