Dora Lee Hughes, 93, of Verbena, Alabama passed away Dec. 12, 2020 at Charlton Place Rehabilitation & Health Care.

She was born March 4, 1927 in Elmore County, Alabama, daughter of P.H. Powell and Lula Willie.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her daughter Carolyn H. (Sonny) Hudson; granddaughters: Tammy (Art) McDow, Jennifer (Robby) Davis and Megan Dale; great-grandchildren: Will (Summer) McDow, Summer McDow, Chase McDow, Daniel McDow, Maddie Staggs, Sophie Davis; and Emma Kate Dale, great-great grandchild Charlie McDow.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles “Boonie” Calvin Hughes; daughter, Sandra Lee Hughes Driver; father P.H. Powell and mother Lula Willie. She was the last of 8 brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers: Robby Davis, Art McDow, Chase McDow, Sonny Hudson, Bo Granthum and CJ Hollon.

Friends will be received Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. to 11a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020, at 11:00 am. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Travis Coleman officiating.

Interment will follow in Mountain Creek Baptist Cemetery, Marbury, Alabama.
