Chilton County Schools Superintendent Jason Griffin has announced that schools will be closed on Friday, Oct. 30 following widespread damage fromTropical Storm Zeta.

“Based on the severity of damage in our county with the loss of power and property damage, we will not have school tomorrow,” Griffin said in a Facebook post on the school system’s official page. “Hopefully, this will allow time to get power restored not only at our schools, but at the homes of our students and employees. Thankful there was no loss of life, but our communities need time to clean up from the storm.”

Like Oct. 29, this will be a weather day without assignments due.

Classes will resume Nov. 2.
