Three violent offenders with Chiton County ties have been denied parole.
The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles has announced that parole requests have been denied for Rebecca Irene Hubbard, Bobby Dale Huffines and Jeremy Lee Smitherman.
Hubbard is serving a 15-year sentence for second-degree rape, enticing a child for immoral purposes and offenses: public health and morals (B felony) in Chilton County, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.
Huffines is serving a 15-year sentence for three counts of robbery, two in Chilton County and one in Limestone. He was sentenced in 2014.
Smitherman is serving a 25-year sentence on a second-degree robbery charge. He was sentenced in 2003. Alabama Department of Corrections records show Smitherman had been granted parole in 2002 after serving one year, 11 months and 20 days of a five-year sentence for burglary and theft of property.
