Gardens of Clanton celebrated National Assisted Living Week Sept. 13-19.

This year was very different from previous years due to COVID-19. Residents and staff missed having our families, friends and local officials with them this year.

The group still had a great time and made the best of every moment.

Monday: Spiritual Day — communion and played Bible verse games.

Tuesday: Physical Day — We were blessed to have Bryan from Restore Outpatient Therapy lead exercises. Our theme for the day was Let’s Get Physical. Restore also donated all the residents T-shirts, waters, fans, donuts and stress balls.

Wednesday: Intellectual Day — We had trivia games and bingo with Tammy Noah from SunCrest.

We also had our annual NALW Fashion Show/Pageant sponsored by SunCrest. This year was very special because after years of crowning queens administrator Vickie Moseley was able to crown her mother Elvie Patterson this year. Our court included Queen Elvie Patterson, King John Crumpton, first alternate Mary Reach, second alternate Rose Boyles, third alternate Mildred Benton, fourth alternate Beverly Boozer, Congeniality Dorothy Pinson.

Our judging panel was made up of Stephanie, Angele, and Griffin with Restore Therapy as well as Tammy Noah with SunCrest Home Health.

Thursday: Emotional Day — We played memory games and talked about or favorite memories and childhoods.
