The Miss YMCA pageant will look different this year.
“Due to COVID, we will have a head shot only pageant,” Tisha Woodham-Creel of the YMCA said.
Woodham-Creel said the photos will be sent to the judges.
Queens will have the same responsibilities as those who have won in previous years. This will include attending parades, community service events, civic events and YMCA activities.
A photogenic only contest will be held for ages 0-23 months and 24-47 months.
Queens will be selected in the following categories: Tiny (4-6 years), Little (7-9 years), Young (10-12 years), Junior (13-15 years), Miss (16-18 years) and Collegiate.
Applications must be picked up at the Y and submitted by Aug. 20. Entry fee is $25 per person.
Winners will be announced on Aug. 22 at noon via Facebook.
A crowning ceremony will be held on Aug. 23 at 1 p.m. at the Y.
