MAPLESVILLE

All candidates were contacted but not all responded.

Candidates for Mayor

W.C. Hayes, Jr.

Political party:  Republican

Age:  81

Education:  I graduated from Maplesville High School and attended 2 years at Alabama College in Montevallo.

Personal message:

I have served the Town of Maplesville as the mayor for 16 years and the town council for 18 years. In this time, we have received about 8 grants resulting in approximately 1 million dollars for the town. These grants include purchasing land for our community parks, building a walking trail at the park, installing sidewalks in town including decorative street lights and restoring the train depot which is currently used as our Senior Center.

In the last 5 years, all town streets have been resurfaced except for one section. The resurfacing for that project is scheduled to begin by the end of August. The town is debt free at this time.

In my duties as mayor, I serve on the Chilton County Industrial Board Authority, the Chilton 911 Board, and I’m chairman of the Solid Waste Committee.

I would like to thank the people of Maplesville for believing in me and our town council. I would like to serve another 4 years as the mayor of Maplesville and finish the job of resurfacing our streets.

Timothy Ray Jones

Political party: Republican

Age: 47

Education: Graduate of Bibb County High School

Personal message:

My name is Tim Jones, and I am seeking the Mayor of Maplesville position. I am married to Kimberly Payne-Jones, and she was a graduate of Maplesville High School as well as our two children, Joshua Jones and Allison Jones. We have been married and have lived in the area for 23 years now, and we believe Maplesville is a wonderful place to live. I would be very appreciative of your vote and if elected, will strive to do the very best job that I can. With your help and vote, we can keep continued and upward progression of the Town of Maplesville.
