Jeanene C. Bean, 83, a longtime resident of Thorsby and recent resident of Gardendale, Alabama passed away June 20, 2020 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

She married the love of her life, Donny, on Dec. 26, celebrating 60 years of marriage. The couple had one daughter, Donna.

Jeanene was a homemaker and took that role very seriously. Some of her favorite pastimes included being actively involved with her church at Thorsby First Baptist including working with the youth group. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with friends and family, vacationing at the beach and listening to Gospel music. She was a member of a bowling team and the Peach Pickers camping club. She treasured time spent with her two grandchildren, William Chase and Kathryn Alexis “Lexi” Cornelius, and stayed busy attending their sporting events and activities.

Jeanene is survived by her husband, Donny Wade Bean; daughter, Donna Bean (Mark) Cornelius; grandson, Chase (Kindall) Cornelius; granddaughter, Lexi Cornelius; sister-in-law, Dorothy Bean Cates; sister-in-law, Helen Bean (Jerry) Inman, a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Alton and Lena Williams Childress; brother, Benny Childress and brother, Jimmy Childress.

Friends will be received Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from 10:30 -11:30 a.m. at Thorsby First Baptist Church.

Services will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at 11:30 a.m. at Thorsby First Baptist Church with Marc Hodges, officiating.

Interment will follow in Thorsby Memorial Cemetery, Thorsby, Alabama.
