The Lake Mitchell Home Owners and Boat Owners Association is selling its 2020 Lake Mitchell calendar to raise funds for future projects.

The calendar features 13 photos submitted by members each year. (One for each month and one on the cover.)

“It’s just fun being involved with anything on the lake,” member Ruth “Tad” Henry said. “They are all lake associated photos. They are all fun, and they are all beautiful.”

The subjects of the photos submitted range from the lake itself to people and animals enjoying it. Photos from some HOBO events are also submitted for inclusion.

In addition to the usual holidays, the calendar has the dates of HOBO events marked.

Cost is $18. Calendars can be ordered at lakemitchellhobo.org. A limited number are available.

Member Marie Green said the project started as a fundraiser for the organization’s scholarships, which are awarded on an annual basis to students in Chilton and Coosa counties. Now, the annual Poker Run funds the scholarships, and the calendar funds are used for HOBO projects at the lake.

She said the calendar is a way to celebrate life on the lake.

“A lot of people give them as Christmas presents to people who love the lake,” Green said.
