The Maplesville Police Department is investigating an alleged hit and run incident that resulted in a fatality.

A vehicle hit a pedestrian crossing Highway 22 around 8-8:30 p.m. on Dec. 8, according to MPD Chief Todd Ingram.

The pedestrian Stephen Howard Liveoak, age 55, died as a result of the incident. Howard had moved to Maplesville about a week before, according to Ingram.

Multiple local emergency and law enforcement agencies responded to the incident.

Police are looking for a white four-door car, possibly a Chevy Impala or Malibu, in connection with the crash.

Ingram said the vehicle most likely has damage to the front.

Those with any information should call the department at 334-366-4211.

Ingram said the crash is still under investigation by the Maplesville Police Department.
