The Chilton County Chamber of Commerce has recognized boutique Willow 31 in Clanton as its business of the month for December.

Chamber members brought Willow 31 the accompanying sign during a small ceremony on Dec. 2.

“It is very exciting,” said Shelley Morris, who co-owns Willow 31 with her daughter Kelsie Barrett. “This is the perfect time of the year to get more advertisement. It is pretty thrilling.”

Morris said business has been good since Willow 31 opened its doors in October of 2018, about 14 months ago.

“We had the biggest Black Friday,” she said. “We did not expect it to be that spectacular. We opened in October last year, and we expected to do maybe double what we did (last Black Friday) because we were new last year. We did five times business.”

Willow 31 is located at 111 Seventh St. N in the building where Bar-D Western Wear used to be.

“We saw this building, and it’s in a perfect location,” Barrett said during the store’s grand opening. “It’s on Highway 31, and there is constant traffic through here. The windows were perfect for showing our products, so everyone will be able to see us. It is centrally located, so I feel like everyone from Chilton County can come here.”

Willow 31 is open Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The store is closed on Sundays.
