Resurrection Catholic Church is expanding its annual festival (also called Kermes) on Oct. 27 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“We usually have little ones, but we are doing something different for the first time and we are going to see how it works,” Father Bruce Bumbarger said.

This year vendor opportunities have been added. There are expected to be 25 vendors selling various items, in addition to Mexican and Latin food being available.

The event does serve as a fundraiser for the church to cover ongoing expenses.

Bumbarger said the festival’s food is more authentic and delicious than ordinary restaurant fare.

Admission is free.

Resurrection Catholic Church is located at 300 First Ave. N in Clanton.
