Edward Jones cuts ribbon on new location

By J.R. TIDWELL / Editor

Edwards Jones Investments held a ribbon cutting and open house for its new location at 122 Sixth Street S in Clanton on Oct. 10.

This branch of Edward Jones, headed by financial adviser Renee Green, was formerly located in a small shopping center down Highway 31.

“We love it,” Green said. “It is much closer into town. We were on Highway 31, but it wasn’t quite where we wanted to be. There is a lot of traffic that comes by here. It is a high-traffic area even compared to where we were on Highway 31. We are enjoying it.”

Green said she has been with Edward Jones for eight years now.

“As a matter of fact, I had an anniversary last week,” she said.

She said she found out her new location was available about a year ago.

“It’s taken that long between the first inquiry, construction and getting the lease to get in here,” Green said. “It’s fabulous. I love that we have some room to move around and have a larger group. I am a member of the Lions Club and the Chamber, so that will give us the opportunity to incorporate those groups more, too.”

According to Green, Edward Jones is a “full-service investment firm.”

“We help people with their retirement money, inheritance and any sort of savings, really,” she said. “We are a very large company. We have got more than 18,000 financial advisers, so we have a wide variety of help through our corporate office.”

Green’s branch of Edward Jones is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but can also do evening appointments.

Green said she prefers prospective clients call and make an appointment so the firm can set aside time to focus on their needs. Appointments can be made by calling 205-755-9948.

“We are open to anyone, whether you are just beginning your savings or ready to retire,” Green said.
