The Clanton City Pool is open just in time for residents to beat the summer heat.

The YMCA of Chilton County is managing the pool again this year.

Public swim times will be from noon to 5 p.m. everyday. Cost is $5 for the general public. YMCA members can swim for free.

The pool is located in Clanton City Park off of Lay Dam Road.

According to Rebecca Corley of the YMCA, swim lessons for children will also be offered.

Classes for 3-5 year olds will be held Mondays and Fridays from June 3-21 at 9 a.m. and another session will be held Saturdays from June 8-July 13 at 9 a.m.

Classes for those 6 years old and older will be held June 3-June 7 and June 10 at 8 a.m.

Another session will be held on Saturdays from June 8 through July 13 at 8 a.m.

Cost for a session of six classes is $50, non-members $80.

Registration for the classes can be filled out at the YMCA.

The YMCA of Chilton County is located at 405 Ollie Ave. in Clanton.
