Raleigh’s Place will host its second annual Father/Daughter Dance on Feb. 16 from 5-8 p.m.

“The Father/Daughter Dance is an event to celebrate and honor the father,” Raleigh’s Place camp director Mike King said. “Our ministry is to the fatherless, so we want to honor fathers who are active in their children’s lives, good examples for their families and models of Christ to their children.”

The event will be held in the Raleigh’s Place dining facility located at 346 County Road 1028 in Clanton.

According to King with Raleigh’s Place, 40 to 50 people attended the inaugural dance last year.

It was a nice showing in the first year of the event and provided hope that the event will only continue to grow in the future.

“The relationship between the father and daughter is a special one, so we want to provide a fun event for the community where fathers can take their daughters out for a night of fun, food and dancing,” King said.

The dancing will also be accompanied with dinner.

Tickets are $25 per couple and additional tickets can be purchased for $10 for fathers with more than one daughter. Call Sharon King at (205) 217-1366 or Kyla King at (205) 217-6393 to purchase tickets.

All the funds raised during the event will go toward helping support the programs offered by Raleigh’s Place.

Some of the nonprofit organization’s initiatives include providing a free summer camp, as well as clothing and education for children in need.

Raleigh’s Place is a Christ-centered foster care ministry with the mission of impacting the lives of foster children and families in Chilton County and the surrounding area with the love of Christ.
