Local city and town halls are closing for a few days to give employees a chance to celebrate the new year.

Clanton

Clanton City Hall will be closed on New Year’s Day. Trash will be picked up on the usual schedule. City residents are encouraged to put out trash cans out a day early and leave them there until the cans are picked up.

Jemison

The Jemison City Hall will be closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. City Clerk Vicki Potts said trash pickup would be on Thursday and Friday for that week.

Thorsby

Thorsby Town Hall will be closed on New Year’s Day. Assistant Town Clerk Julie Adams said trash will be picked up as usual on Dec. 31. Trash routes usually picked up on Tuesdays will be picked up on Wednesday.

Maplesville

The Maplesville Town Hall will close at noon on Dec. 31 and reopen on Jan. 2. Town Clerk Dawn Smitherman said this would not impact the trash pickup schedule.
