Isabella High School’s volleyball team raised $5,640 through a Drive 4 UR School event at Baugh Ford.

Checks were presented to coach Glenn Graham and Principal Ricky Porter on Dec. 12 from the Oct. 13 event.  Baugh Ford owner Tommie Baugh said the event was held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For each car that fundraiser participants drove, IHS received $20 from Ford Motor Company. Test drives on the Ford Fusion gained the school additional funds

“We had a really good turnout from the school,” Baugh said. “The community really showed up for a school their size.”

Graham said the program was a “huge boost” to the program.

“We are going to surprise the students at tryouts this year with all the new equipment,” Graham said.

The funds will also help offset the cost of playing in tournaments.

Graham said he had purchased a vehicle from Baugh Ford and heard about the Drive 4 UR School at the dealership soon thereafter.

This is the third time IHS volleyball has participated in the program.

“I’m very proud of the volleyball team and the Isabella School community for the way they come out and support the program,” Porter said.

Baugh Ford tries to host four similar fundraisers each year — three dedicated to schools and one dedicated to a community organization. The dealership averages $20,000 a year in funds raised.
