Through the Grace of God Ministries had a successful banquet and auction recently to raise funds for the organization.

“Everything went wonderful,” ministry co-director Sunday Hosch said.

A variety of items had been donated for the auction, including a football signed by University of Alabama coach Nick Saban.

Hosch said the ministry is “very pleased for meeting and exceeding 2018 goals.”

Each year Hosch enjoys seeing how the community comes together to support the ministry.

“I love the way the community comes together,” Hosch said.

Several local churches “from all walks of life” participate, Hosch said. This year a number of new churches participated in the event.

“It’s overwhelming how people support our mission to see souls saved,” Hosch said.

Each year the Through the Grace of God Ministries tries to make the event fun, while emphasizing its goal of helping people.

“That’s what makes my heart happy,” Hosch said.

Award winning singer/ songwriter Tina Wakefield was the night’s special guest.

Hosch said the organization was thankful for First United Methodist Church allowing it to use the facility for free.

Through the Grace of God Ministries provides five meals a week at its location on Eighth Street and also has a clothing ministry.
