Clanton First United Methodist Church is hosting a Ladies’ Night Out on Aug. 26 at 6 p.m. The event will feature dinner and Kasey Hope, talking about her book “Faith Over Fear.”

Hope said all of the proceeds from the book are going to the organization “Rice Bowls to help feed kids around the world.” Hope is also the owner of P’zazz Art Studio and has partnered with Rice Bowls “to provide over 85,000 meals for orphaned children.”

“I have traveled to Honduras and India with the Rice Bowls organization to teach art camps and to see firsthand how well they serve the children’s homes,” Hope said.

Christy Millard, who is a part of the Ladies’ Night Out planning committee, said the event will be casual.

The event will start with a catered dinner, and then Hope will speak.

“Tickets are $10, and that’s really just to cover the cost of the meal,” Millard said.

Tickets can be pre-ordered or purchased at the door. To pre-order tickets, contact Clanton First United Methodist Church at 205-755-0490 or visit the church office at 207 Eighth St. N.

The event will be held in the Helen E. Parrish Activity Center, located behind the main sanctuary.

Child care will be provided.

Millard said she is looking for a chance to connect with those who may have similar interests and “a chance to fellowship with other Christian women” during the event.

Initially, it was Janice Maddox and Alice Graham who suggested doing “Faith Over Fear” as a Bible study series. Millard said this was about a year ago, and now it is planned to begin Sept. 12.

Ladies’ Night Out will serve as a fun way to promote the study. Millard said the Bible study using “Faith Over Fear” will also incorporate watercolor projects in an interactive workshop setting.
