West End Baptist Church is hosting its Pack to School free school supplies pickup for Clanton Intermediate School students on Aug. 4 between 9 and 11 a.m. at the church’s Family Center, located at 2005 Second Ave. N. in Clanton.

Basic supplies, including pencils, pens, paper and folders follow CIS requirements and were collected by West End Baptist Church members.

“This year it’s going to be a drawstring bag with the supplies inside, and we’ll give away as many as we can,” Michelle Jeremiah, director of children’s ministries, said.

Jeremiah said West End Baptist Church has given away hundreds of packed bags over the years.

Each year’s supply has met the need.

“We hope to, of course, reach as many as we can for Jesus — but we just want to help give these kids the supplies that they need to have a great school year and to know that West End cares,” Jeremiah said.
