Four fun summer camps will be hosted by the 4-H program of Chilton County during the month of July.
According to the flyer, camps are offered for ages 9-12.
“Most of these programs we offer in the summer are also programs we offer after school during the school year,” said Pam Ousley from the Extension office.
On July 11, from 9 a.m. – noon. they will have a STEM, coding, and scratch workshop that instructs through games, interaction and hands on activities through computer science.
The registration fee is $5.
“We wanted to offer something that is high-tech, that is a learning activity but also fun,” Ousley said.
Also, according to Ousley, the 4-H organization is offering STEM as a national event in October.
A sewing camp will be available at a beginner’s level on July 17-18, from 9 a.m. – noon.
It will include a sewing project and instruction book with take home ideas.
This is for both girls and boys with registration being $15.

Sewing part two will be on July 31, from 9 a.m. – noon.
This will be for children who have some experience with a sewing machine.
Registration is $5, which will include a sewing kit.
“We try to hopefully get new 4-H members interested in some of the programs that we offer, so that they will continue to participate in some of the things that we have,” Ousley said.
