The city of Jemison donated $200 toward a char-boil, stainless steel grill for Chilton County United Way to use for fundraising purposes.

Campaign Coordinator Carol Fortuna of CCUW said the grill is the subject for a donation drawing, set to climax at Peach Jam on June 29.

Drawing tickets are $2 for one ticket, $5 for three tickets and $10 for five tickets.

Proceeds from donation tickets will ultimately benefit the nonprofit and its agencies while filling a portion of the $750,000 CCUW fundraising goal for 2019.

“We want to thank the city of Jemison for supporting us,” Fortuna said. “City Administrator Shannon Welch presented the check to us today (June 19).”

Welch is also a CCUW board member.
