Avie Mae Whaley

Avie Mae Yates Whaley, 88, of Clanton, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018.

She was born Sunday, March 2, 1930, in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, daughter of the late L.B. Yates and the late Nannie Moody Yates.

She was a Homemaker.

Surviving are husband, Jack Whaley of Clanton, Alabama; son, Tony (Misti) Whaley of Gulf Shores, Alabama; grandson, Brian Whaley of Birmingham, Alabama; granddaughters, Anna (Roddrell) Cook of Pinson, Alabama and Sharon Whaley of Oneonta, Alabama; great-granddaughter, Makiya Whaley of Pinson, Alabama, Jaelyn Whaley of Pinson, Alabama, Everly Whaley of Oneonta, Alabama; nieces, Alfreida (Todd) Phillip, Janet (Jerry) Scott; nephew, Sonny Yates.

She was preceded in death by her parents, L.B. and Nannie Yates; son, Barry Jack Whaley; sister, Ezell Yates; brother, Orell Yates.

Friends will be received from 10 – 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at West End Baptist Church.

Services will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at 12 p.m. at West End Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Lightsey and Rev. James Watkins officiating.

Interment will follow in Hillview Cemetery, Alex City, Alabama.
