Clyde R. Lawley, age 82, of Thorsby, Alabama, died May 16, 2018.

Born to Marion and Lizzie Lawley in West Blocton, he attended Montevallo High School. He served in the US Navy and was on his 2^nd enlistment before being injured on a ship. Until health problems prevented it, Clyde loved to garden and was an avid reader.

In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin Harris; granddaughter, Jennifer Boyd; sisters, Faye Thompson, Georgia Mae Sullivan and Helen Lawley; brothers, Bill Allinder, Thomas Allinder, Marvin Lawley, J. D. Lawley, Grover Lawley and Ben Lawley.

Survivors, in addition to his beloved companion and more recently, caregiver, Jonnie Nix, are sons, Dale (Kathy) Lawley and Kenneth Lawley; daughters, Priscilla (Donnie) Harris, Gail Lawley and Kay (David) Boyd; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

His visitation will be held on Monday, May 21, 2018, at 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home in Montevallo. A graveside service will follow at Alabama National Cemetery at 2:45 p.m.
