Coca-Cola UNITED names Clanton resident VP of Human Resources

Clanton resident Gianetta Jones has been named Vice President of Human Resources for Coca-Cola bottling company UNITED effective April 1.

She was also named an officer of the company, according to a release.

“Gianetta played a key role in our transitions during the past four years, including successfully onboarding and integrating more than 7,000 new associates … no small feat,” said John Sherman, President and CEO of Coca-Cola UNITED. “She will be an integral member of UNITED’s executive leadership as we continue to develop our strong team-oriented culture with a focus on our greatest assets, our associates.”

Jones will be responsible for all activities involving Human Resources, including employment, benefits, leadership development and training and payroll.

Jones became a Region Human Resources Director for Coca-Cola UNITED in 2007 and was promoted to Corporate Human Resources Director in May 2015.

Jones, who is originally from Birmingham, graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business with a finance concentration.

Jones held management positions at Mason Corporation and Hyundai of Alabama before joining UNITED.

Jones is a member of the Jefferson-Shelby Board for the Red Cross, the Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society and also volunteers with United Cerebral Palsy. She and her husband, Clint, are members of First United Methodist Church in Clanton

According to the company’s website, “Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED was founded in 1902 and is headquartered in Birmingham. It is the second largest privately held Coca-Cola bottler in North America and the third largest bottler of Coca-Cola products in the U.S.

“Coca-Cola UNITED has approximately 10,000 associates located in more than 60 facilities across six southeastern states (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee).”
