Road projects could be coming to more streets in Maplesville.

The Maplesville City Council approved having Mayor W.C. Hayes get specifications for road surfacing projects for Mitchell Hill Road, Taylor Road, Sawmill Road, Magnolia Avenue, Martin Street and Crumpton Avenue during a meeting on April 9.

The town had allocated $300,000 for road projects in the 2018 fiscal year budget.

The town is also working with Myles Montgomery from Alabama State University on updates to the town map.

Also during the meeting, the Council approved:

— A raise for Brian Beckham in the Street Department for working for the city for six months.

— Tracy Caldwell, Forrest Hale and Katie Seales as volunteer firefighters.

— Sending a registered letter to a community member in reference to a violation of the nuisances ordinance.
