Charles Pinkney Jones, Jr.

Charles P. Jones died April 7, 2018. Mr. Jones was born August 27, 1923, in Alexander City, the son of Charles P. Jones, Sr. and Bessie L. Carter Jones.

Mr. Jones was a veteran of World War II, serving in the European theater with the 961st Engineer Maintenance Company. Following the war, he went to work for the Liberty National Life Insurance Company where he retired after 30 years. In his retirement, he began a produce business.

Mr. Jones is survived by his daughter Judith Ann (Sherrell) White of Plantersville; 3 granddaughters, Angela Hicks, Jennifer (Heath) Blackmon and Amanda (John) Giles; 5 great grandchildren, Maddie Giles, Marlie Giles, Jeslyn Blackmon, Kendrick Blackmon and Ryder Giles all of Chilton County.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Lloyd Jones, Avoline LeCroy, Mary Charles Harris and Elnora Langston.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 12 from 10:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. immediately followed by the memorial service in the chapel of Charter Funeral Home.
