Rena Dunavant Harmon

Rena Dunavant Harmon, age 52 of Pelham and formerly of Jemison, passed away on April 8, 2018 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. She was born in Jefferson County on Aug 17, 1965; the daughter of the late J.W. Dunavant and the late Robbie Lee Atchison Dunavant.
Rena was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She had a wonderful personality and a smile that will be remembered by all who knew her. She was a former employee of the University of Montevallo where she spent nearly 15 years as coordinator of the Upward Bound program. She went on to have a very successful career in real estate. She was a realtor with Realty South Pelham office. Rena won many awards and was a multimillion dollar producing realtor.
She is survived by: husband, Ottis Harmon of Pelham; son, Michael (Kylee) Mitchell of Jemison; daughter, Miranda Mitchell Pate of Jemison; daughter, Amberly Mitchell of Pelham; step-son, Shane Harmon of Chelsea; step-daughter, Heather Saladino of Birmingham; step-son, Ottis Harmon III of Atlanta; step-daughter, Hannah Harmon of Pelham; step-son, Justin Harmon of Pelham; 14 grandchildren; and brother, Gary Atchison of Montgomery.
She is preceded in death by her father, J.W. Dunavant; and mother, Robbie Lee Dunavant.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 5-8 pm at Union Grove Baptist Church located at 11501 County Road 51 in Jemison.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018, 2:00 pm at Union Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Bradley officiating.
Burial will follow in the Union Grove Community Cemetery in Jemison, AL.
