The Clanton Kiwanis Club is hosting a spring carnival April 10-14 in Clanton at Goose Pond Park.

Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. each night with a variety of rides and food vendors on site.

Ride armbands will be $15 on April 10-12 and $20 on April 13 and 14. Individual tickets for rides are also available for $1 each. Family Pack of 32 tickets will be $30.

Kiwanian Scott Zuelzke, chairman of the fair committee, said James Gang Amusements, the company that provides the rides for the county fair, offered to provide rides for a spring carnival, and the club decided it was a good idea.

The city of Clanton partnered with the club by allowing the use of Goose Pond Park for the event.

“Kiwanis International, all the way down to our local club, supports children’s charities,” Zuelzke said.

Funds raised from the spring carnival will be given to local charities and those based elsewhere that serve Chilton County children.

Zuelzke said he was looking forward to the club “offering some entertainment at a local level for the children, so they don’t have to go out of town” through the carnival.

“(We) are hoping everyone can take advantage of this opportunity,” Zuelzke said.

Parking for the event will be available at city park, giving attendees convenient crossing of Seventh Street via the park’s path.
