Perry Mountain Motorcycle Club in Maplesville hosts a variety of events throughout the year, but one of the more unique events is the club’s annual Tower Run Dual Sport and Adventure Rally.

The 2018 event will be held April 21-22 and will begin at 9 a.m. It will carry additional prestige, as it is included as part of the American Motorcyclist Association’s National Dual Sport and Adventure Series schedule.

Each rider will select the category of either dual sport or adventure when signing up. The categories will take different routes along the way, with a rider’s experience level and bike style taken into consideration.

Dual sport will consist of single track and technical trails designed to test the skills of seasoned dirt bikers. The adventure route will be a combination of pavement and fast forest roads more suited for less-seasoned riders and those on larger ADV bikes.

According to the AMA website, adventure riding is one of the fastest growing classes in motorcycling.

The routes will be run on both days of the event, which means that riders will have the option to ride a different route on Day 2.

Riders can still sign-up to compete in the event, but AMA membership is required. The entry fee is $100, and riders can register online at www.perrymountainmotorcycleclub.com/pmmc-tower-run.com or on-site the day of the event.

Primitive camping and a bathhouse will be provided on site.

Riders can choose between a one-event pass that will be available for $20 at the event or purchase a full membership with AMA for $49 either online or at the event.

Perry Mountain Motorcycle Club is located at 2464 County Road 26 in Plantersville.
