Ruth Doris Wallace Roper

Ruth Doris Wallace Roper, 95, of Maplesville died Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Shelby Ridge Nursing Home in Alabaster.

She was born on Friday, Aug. 4, 1922, and was the daughter of the late Jake Wallace and the late Gladys Wooley Wallace. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter White Roper; brothers, Melton Wallace, Horace Wallace and J.E. Wallace and sister Marjorie Hopper.

She was a dedicated Sunday school teacher for 40 years at Green Valley Baptist Church in Hoover and was a member of Maplesville Baptist Church. She was a dedicated grandmother and an avid Crimson Tide fan. We know she has gone to be with the Lord.

Surviving are her son, Randall W. Roper (Sharon) of Maplesville; granddaughter, Heather Carroll (Mitchell) of Plantersville; great-grandchildren, Grant, Abbie, Brook, Chloe, David, Ellie, Faith; brother, John C. Wallace (Isla) of Maplesville and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Maplesville with Mitchell Carroll officiating.
