Helen Carmichael Threlkeld

Helen Carmichael Threlkeld, 88, of Verbena died Monday, March 19, 2018, at Hatley Health Care in Clanton.

She was born on Saturday, January 25, 1930, in Pike County. She was the daughter of the late Caswell Wade Carmichael and the late Mary Kate Huff Carmichael.

She was a teacher.

Surviving here are daughter, Donna T. (Daniel) Velasquez of Verbena; sons: Robert (Rebecca) Threlkeld of Clanton and Albert (Lori) Threlkeld of Flatonia, Texas; grandsons: Ian (Mary Katherine) Velasquez of Auburn and Drew Threlkeld of Clanton; granddaughters: Leslie (Cortney) Bryant of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Emmajean Threlkeld of Clanton, Ana (Eric) Crader of Leander, Texas, and Kristen Threlkeld of Houston, Texas; great-granddaughter: Addison Crader of Leander, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Donald H. Threlkeld; parents: Caswell and Mary Kate Carmichael; sister: Martha Foley; brother: Thomas Carmichael.

Friends will be received March 24 from 10-11 a.m. at Martin Chapel, with services following at 11 a.m. with Rev. Rob West officiating.
