The Thorsby Rebels picked up their second win of the 2018 season over the cross-town rival Jemison Panthers on the road Saturday afternoon.

After a pair of quick outs to start the game, the Rebels would be the first to put points on the board thanks to a two-out solo home run by Tanner Jones that put Thorsby up 1-0.

A two-out walk to AJ Jackson for Jemison in the bottom half of the first would be all the offense for the Panthers, and the score would remain 1-0 after one inning of play.

Thorsby would tack on three more in the top of the second thanks to a pair of singles by Tyler Jackson and Grayson Bice followed by a bases-loading bunt by Tucker Patterson. The scoring trend by the Rebels would continue into the third, as Jackson would get things started with a double that would set up a RBI single by Bice. A RBI single by Ricky Sorcia would later see Sorcia score on a Jemison error that would make the score 7-0 in favor of the Rebels.

A leadoff walk by Lawson Payton would lead to the first points of the game for Jemison thanks to an infield ground ball by Hunter Lowery that would make it a 7-1 game after three innings of play.

Birchfield would start the top of the fourth with a leadoff double that would later extend the Thorsby lead to eight thanks to another Jemison error. With the Panthers going in order through the home half of the fourth, Thorsby would take a 8-1 lead to the top of the fifth inning.

Two more runs for the Rebels would come in the top of the fifth, as a two out single from Peyton Carroll and a walk to Niece would set up a two-RBI double by Tanner Jones that would make it a 10-1 Thorsby lead after five innings of play.

The Thorsby bats would finally cool a bit in the top of the sixth inning, as the Rebels would see their first scoreless inning, while the Panthers would tack on one more as a two-out hit by pitch to Austin Chapman would lead to a Jemison run that would make it a 10-2 Thorsby lead heading to the seventh and final inning.
