Pies By Mike is at it again with a fundraiser benefitting a worthy cause.

Until March 16, Pies By Mike pies can be purchased for $20 to benefit Chilton County United Way.

Flavors include pecan, Toll House or fudge pies, and pies can be made sugar-free by request, according to Carol Fortuna of United Way.

Pies have a June 30 expiration date.

“You know, Easter’s coming up, and the pies freeze very well,” Fortuna said. “I have frozen pies and just taken them out of the freezer. They’re just as good as if they’re handed to me freshly baked.”

Fortuna said pies would make an excellent treat with Easter dinners or gifts to loved ones.

Pies can be picked up at Pies By Mike, which is located at 808 Logan Rd. in Clanton.

Fortuna said she and Mike Graham of Pies By Mike are willing to work with participants to ensure easy pick-ups or meet-ups for pick-up.

The fundraiser aims to complete a small portion of United Way’s $175,000 fundraising goal.

Partnered with Pies By Mike, United Way set a financial goal for the pie proceeds.

“Our goal is to come up with at least a couple thousand dollars,” Fortuna said.

So far, United Way has raised a little over $1,000 through the fundraiser, receiving $8.75 per pie purchase.

“The money that we raise,” Fortuna said, “that’s part of the money that goes to the 21 agencies that we support.”

Pies can be purchased online at piesbymike.com or by contacting Fortuna at (205) 245-2650.
