The Clanton Church of Christ Relay For Life team is hosting a Norwex cleaning product fundraiser party to “Clean Out Cancer.”

The weeklong online fundraiser began with a sales party at the church on Feb. 24 and is scheduled to conclude March 2. Its proceeds will benefit cancer research through Relay For Life of Chilton County.

Abby Loftis, a special education teacher at Clanton Elementary School and a Norwex sales representative, is hosting the fundraiser through her Norwex webpage.

Norwex is a Norwegian microfiber cloth interwoven with silver, Loftis said. The cleaning product is environmentally sound, promoting the use of natural elements to combat unclean surfaces without the use of harmful chemicals that have been linked to cancer.

“The whole point of Norwex was to get away from the cancer-causing chemicals, so I thought that [a Norwex fundraiser] would be a good way to help raise money for our team for Relay For Life,” Loftis said.

Loftis said 30 percent of the proceeds, which is all the profit she receives from Norwex sales, will be donated directly to Relay for Life on behalf of the Clanton Church of Christ Relay For Life team.

“I would like to get around $100-150 that I’m actually able to donate,” Loftis said.

To meet this goal, a total of at least $335 must be raised.

Orders can be made online at abbyloftis.norwex.biz. RFL supporters can click “Shop Now” and then select the “Abby’s Fundraiser” party category for their items.
