Irby Hayden Fanning, Jr.

Irby Hayden Fanning, Jr., 81, of Clanton died Wednesday, Jan. 17 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster.

He was born on Monday, Dec. 7, 1936 in Cullman, son of the late Irby H. Fanning, Sr. and the late Arbelle Green Fanning.

He was an aviation electronic tech with the Navy.

Surviving are his sons, Chris (Lynette) Fanning of Woodbridge, Virginia, and Craig (Carlyn) Fanning of Clanton; daughter, Cindy (Kevin) West of Clanton; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and brother, Buddy Fanning of Hayden.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Fanning.

Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 19 at Martin Chapel.

Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 20 at 11 a.m. at Martin Chapel with Rev. Kevin West, Rev. Hank Walker, Rev. Ryan Kilosky officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton.
