Maplesville junior varsity cruises to championship game

No. 3 seed Maplesville defeated No. 2 seed Jemison 36-7 in the county tournament and be will be facing No. 1 seed Chilton County in the championship game Jan. 6.
Maplesville held Jemison to two points until the 5:32 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
“Our trap defense worked to perfection, and our zone defense worked out well when we needed it,” said Maplesville coach Brandon Morrow Jr.
The offense was working for the Maplesville Red Devils with 10 points apiece coming from guards Latrell Wilson and Christopher Hardy.
“We shot the ball great and I’ve got a lot of confidence in my guys,” Morrow Jr. said
Morrow Jr. says believes that his team is up for the challenge of winning a county championship.
“It’s all about executing the gameplan and I believe that we can get the job done.”
