Curtis Eugene Ray

Curtis Eugene Ray, 87, of Clanton died Sunday, Nov. 26 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster.

He was born on Monday, Oct. 27, 1930 in Chilton County, son of the late Jessie Martin Ray and the late Ida Mae Thomaston Ray.

He was a homebuilder.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy C. Ray of Clanton; daughter, Judy R. (Donny) Finlayson of Clanton; sister, Betty R. (Rayford) Caton of Clanton; grandson, Barton R. Finlayson of Clanton; granddaughter, Brooke Finlayson (John) Sullivan of Clanton; great-grandson, John Michael Sullivan, V of Clanton; great-granddaughter, Finlay Brooke Sullivan of Clanton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Ida Ray; brother, Calvin Ray; brother, Maurice Ray; and infant son, Terry Wayne Ray.

Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 29 at Cane Creek Baptist Church.

Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 11 a.m. at Cane Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Gibson, Rev. Jerry Cleckler, and Rev. Tim Scott officiating. Interment will follow in Cane Creek Baptist Cemetery, Clanton.
