Southland Gospel is hosting a “pre-Thanksgiving” singing, featuring the Singing Echoes professional gospel band, at 6 p.m. on Nov. 18 at Chestnut Creek Heritage Chapel in Verbena.

The Singing Echoes are coming to Verbena from Cleveland, Tennessee, Southland Gospel’s Tammy Harmon said.

“Come for some good gospel singing, expecting a blessing!” Harmon said.

Officers from the Chilton County Sheriff’s Office will direct parking for the event, particularly accommodating handicapped guests, Harmon said.

Admission is free.

A love offering will be collected for the Singing Echoes, Harmon said.

Harmon said she plays keyboard for Southland Gospel, which was regrouped two years ago with its seven current members, including her father. The band performed for 18 years prior with some different members.

Harmon said band members are from all over Chilton County.

“We’re like family,” Harmon said.

Southland Gospel can be followed on its Facebook page.

Chestnut Creek Heritage Chapel is located at 11975 County Road 24 in Verbena.
