Rachel Susan Bates Lowrey

Rachel Susan Bates Lowrey, 78, of Clanton died Friday, Nov. 3 at Hatley Health Care, Clanton.

She was born on Monday, Nov. 28, 1938 in Ohio, daughter of the late Leslie T. Bates and the late Sennie Finnerty Bates.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are sons, D. Dale (Linda) Lowrey, Jr. of Clanton, Dirk (Faye) Lowrey of Clanton, and Dare (Carol) Lowrey of Jemison; granddaughter, Mandee Lowrey of Thorsby; grandson, Cody (Whittney) Lowrey of Birmingham; great-grandson, Gavin Lowrey of Birmingham; great-granddaughter, Addie Grace Lowrey of Birmingham; sisters, Katie Pascoe of Glendale, Arizona and Carole (Charles) Ulrich of Gainesville, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delton D. Lowrey Sr. and numerous brothers and sisters.

Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 6 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Monday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Randall Mims officiating. Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton.
