Alacare Home Health and Hospice invited the community to tour their offices and participate in a ribbon cutting on Nov. 1.

The company moved to its current location in the Todd Price Office Building on Lay Dam Road in June, but has been in the community for more than 25 years.

“This was a good move for us because it is more open,” April Abbott, Chilton County branch director, said. “We have more office space here. It is right beside the hospital, which is the perfect location.”

Abbott said the number of people being served has increased since the move. However, she was uncertain whether the increase was directly related to the new location. She mentioned the location will benefit from potential expansion at the hospital complex.

Erika Moore, clinical manager, said she enjoys the blend of nursing and office work that her position requires. She said the patients are always happy to see her.

“Everybody here is so friendly,” Moore said. “Everybody welcomes you. They are glad to see you. They want to feed you … They are so thankful to have us helping take care of them.”

Moore said she enjoyed meeting community members during the open house.

Alacare provides nursing services, home care assistance, physical therapy and occupational therapy. The Clanton office has approximately 20 employees.
