Habitat for Humanity of Autauga and Chilton Counties is hosting its fourth annual Homes “Fore” Habitat fundraiser golf tournament on Nov. 3 at 11:30 a.m. at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Capitol Hill, Legislator Golf Course.

“This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year,” Executive Director Lisa Green said. “It is a fun way for people to get involved in supporting our mission of creating affordable housing solutions for families in our surrounding communities.”

Green said all proceeds from the event fund building houses in Autauga and Chilton counties, with a small percentage supporting administration.

“We do our best to keep admin as low as possible,” Green said.

Registration and lunch kick off the fun at 11:30 a.m., with a shotgun start to commence the tournament at 1 p.m. Winners and prizes will be announced at 5:30 p.m.

Door prizes will add a special, new flare to this year’s event.

“We’ve gotten some great door prizes, so we will have a first place winner [of the tournament], and then everyone will have a chance to win after that. So, we’ll just draw door prizes,” Green said.

Items will be announced and then discovered inside players’ goody bags.

Green said the first-place tournament winner will receive a one-day, free pass to play golf at the Robert Trent Golf Course and a $25 gift certificate to Kinnucan’s specialty outfitters.

Players can register online at HabitatAutaugaChilton.org or by emailing Tournament Committee Chair Daon Johnson at daon.johnson@habitatautaugachilton.org.

Registration is $100 per individual, or $125 after Oct. 20, and $400 per team.

Cost includes 18 holes of golf, a golf cart and lunch.

“We just have a good time,” Green said. “Beautiful day to golf and riding golf carts.”

Habitat for Humanity of Autauga and Chilton Counties is seeking more volunteers, sponsors and players for the event.

Green said volunteers ride golf carts around the course, checking on players and observing efforts at hole-in-ones at Hole 13.
