Clanton Council approves funding for bills

Clanton City Council made short work of its agenda on Oct. 9.

The Council approved paying bills and accepting a disability-related retirement.

The city will pay $115,000 to Giddens Inc. as a part of continued utility work to install a new waterline to bypass the existing one.

Mayor Billy Joe Driver said funds from utilities would be used toward paying the bill.

A truck for the fire department that had been approved in a previous meeting will be purchased for $34,573.

The Council also approved its quarterly contribution of $30,000 to the Chilton/ Clanton Public Library.
