“Treats on Main” is coming to Maplesville on Halloween night.
The event takes a block-party approach, inviting all of Maplesville to line Main Street and hand out candy.
“Anyone who would like to come and hand out their candy can, and it’s open to everybody to trick or treat,” Town Clerk Dawn Smitherman said.
The Maplesville Library will have a slime making activity for children.
The event will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Main Street will be closed starting at 4:45 p.m.
Smitherman said a local business owner had asked about the town hosting a downtown Halloween event, and the idea grew from there.
Organizers are hoping for a good response from the community and plan on making this an annual event with possible expansion.
