A new fall festival is coming to Maplesville on Oct. 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“It’s something fun for the community at harvest time,” co-organizer Kim DeLoach of Windwood Farms.

DeLoach and her husband, who are opening a business in Maplesville, wanted to host a community event and chose a festival style.

The event will feature activities for children and adults. Games, face painting and a bouncy house will be on site for children. Adults can enjoy browsing the arts and crafts vendors looking for decor or that perfect gift.

Deloach said vendors will include sports-themed door hangers, jewelry and repurposed art.

“We have a lady making homemade jellies and jams,” DeLoach said.

The Maplesville High School cheerleaders will also be selling sweets at the event.

DeLoach said she is looking forward to interacting with the people who come out to the event.

“We love the people in our small community,” DeLoach said.

Those looking for something savory will also have options. Big Bo’s BBQ will be on site selling ribs, barbeque and chicken.

The event will be held at 8155 Alabama Highway 22 (next to Marion Bank). Parking is available on site with overflow parking on the bank parking lot.

Admission is free.

The plan is to hold a similar event on the third Saturday of every month.
