The driver of an overturned pickup truck on the 800 Block of Country Club Road in Clanton is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries after being trapped in his vehicle on Oct. 4.

Clanton Fire Department dispatched at approximately 6:45 p.m. to the scene of the accident, Clanton Fire Chief David Driver said.

Upon arrival, firemen found the vehicle on its side and its lone occupant trapped within.

“We began patient care and extrication, and had the patient extricated at 7:08 p.m.,” Driver said.

The individual was retrieved from the vehicle through an opening that firemen had cut with a reciprocating saw into the roof above the crushed windshield, according to Driver.

The patient was transported by CARE Ambulance to Shelby Baptist Medical Center for treatment to his non-life-threatening injuries, and the accident scene was cleared at 7:28 p.m., Driver said.
