A Maplesville man was injured late morning on Oct. 3 after his motorcycle was struck by a passing vehicle on Seventh Street North.

Clanton Fire Chief David Driver said the driver’s injuries “did not appear to be life-threatening” at the scene of the accident.

The man was transported by CARE Ambulance to St. Vincent’s Chilton, Driver said.

According to one witness, the motorcycle was allegedly struck on its side toward the rear by a vehicle trying to pass the motorcycle as it waited to turn off Seventh Street North.

The driver of the vehicle and other witnesses were cooperative in reporting details to patrol officers.

Traffic was redirected as officials assisted the motorcycle driver and ultimately removed his motorcycle from the roadway.
