For the second straight year, Maplesville dominated Dallas County on the football field with a 56-0 victory over their nearby neighbors.

The Red Devils (5-0) scored six times in the first half and carried a 42-0 lead into the halftime break.

Explosive chunk plays were the name of the game for the Red Devils, which outgained Dallas County by 295 yards on offense despite running 11 fewer plays.

Brent Schoener had a big game from his quarterback position and found multiple ways to contribute with four touchdowns on the night, two rushing and two through the air.

Michael Harris and Nathaniel Watson were on the receiving ends of Schoener’s touchdown tosses, both of which were deep balls that challenged the Dallas County secondary.

Watson had some nice runs on the night and finished with a team-high 68 yards on the ground and 115 total yards on four touches.

Ryan Morrow and Latrell Wilson each ran for a score and averaged well over 5 yards per carry. Morrow broke free for the game’s first score.

Defense and special teams also came to play, as Tristen Thetford blocked a punt and ran it back for a touchdown. Thetford was not done, as he also kicked the extra point.

Christin Brown and Timothy Bradley led the Red Devils with six tackles.

Maplesville now has a week off prior to a showdown at home against Isabella on Oct. 13.
